- 125 grams Self-Raising Flour (Can be replaced with plain flour plus baking powder)
- 200 grams Granulated Sugar (Key for making the salted caramel)
- 100 ml Double Cream (Heavy cream is a suitable substitute)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Essential in both the brownies and caramel)
- 100 grams White Marshmallows (Used to create the spiderweb effect)
- 25 grams Edible Eyes (You can replace with chocolate chips if desired)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, slowly melt granulated sugar over medium heat until it turns amber in color. Carefully add butter and double cream, whisking until smooth. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to thicken.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a microwave-safe bowl, melt unsalted butter and dark chocolate together, stirring until smooth. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and white caster sugar until frothy, then combine with the chocolate mixture. Fold in self-raising flour until just combined.
- Spread half of the brownie mixture into a lined baking tin. Pour the cooled salted caramel over it, then top with the remaining brownie mix. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until the edges crack and the top loses its shine. Cool in the tin.
- In a microwave, melt the white marshmallows until soft. Stretch and drape them over the cooled brownies, creating a spiderweb effect. Add edible eyes for a fun touch!
