Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (15.25 ounce) box chocolate cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until smooth. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Pour this mixture evenly over the warm cake, ensuring it fills the poked holes.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the pudding to set and the cake to absorb the flavors.
- Before serving, spread the thawed whipped topping over the pudding layer. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies over the whipped topping to create your Oreo pudding poke cake topping.
- Slice and serve your delicious Oreo pudding poke cake.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, use chocolate milk instead of regular milk when making the pudding.
- You can substitute the whipped topping with a cream cheese frosting for a richer dessert.
- Chill the cake thoroughly for the best texture and flavor.
- Garnish with whole Oreos or chocolate shavings if desired.
