Description

This Gluten-Free Vegan Chocolate Orange Tart features rich chocolate and fresh orange juice in a buttery gluten-free crust.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Gluten-free flour
  • 0.5 cups Caster sugar
  • 0.5 cups Cold dairy-free butter (for a vegan option)
  • 1 tablespoon Water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 can Full-fat canned coconut milk
  • 200 grams Dark chocolate (choose good quality)
  • 0.25 cups Maple syrup
  • 0.5 cups Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 each Zest of oranges (for flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan/350F.
  2. Grease the pie tin with a little butter.
  3. Mix the flour and sugar in a bowl, then add the cold butter and work it into the mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Incorporate enough water to form a soft, slightly sticky ball of dough.
  5. Press the dough into the pie tin, prick with a fork, and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  6. Heat all filling ingredients in a saucepan over low-medium heat until melted and smooth.
  7. Pour the filling into the baked pastry base and let cool at room temperature before refrigerating for 4-5 hours.
  8. Decorate your tart to your liking and serve. Store remaining slices in an airtight container.
