Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and creamy peanut butter until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the butter mixture. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Use a fork to press a criss-cross pattern onto the top of each cookie, a classic peanut butter cookie look.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft. For extra soft peanut butter cookies, bake for the shorter time.
