Description

A fresh and lightened-up take on the classic margarita, this skinny margarita recipe skips the sugary mixers and uses fresh lime juice for a crisp, refreshing cocktail perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes)
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 1 orange)
  • 1/3 cup silver (blanco) tequila
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar or honey, to taste
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Coarse salt and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juice the limes and orange, and strain to remove pulp if desired.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and cold water.
  3. Stir well to blend all ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more agave nectar if desired.
  4. Run a lime wedge around the rims of 4 glasses and dip each rim in coarse salt.
  5. Fill glasses with ice. Pour margarita mixture over the ice, garnish with lime wedges, and serve immediately.
