- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Nutella
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and immediately stir in the flour until a smooth ball forms.
- Return the saucepan to low heat and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute to dry out the dough.
- Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the dough in a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 1-inch pieces of dough directly into the hot oil.
- Fry the churro bites for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- In a shallow bowl, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Drain the fried churro bites on a paper towel-lined plate.
- While still warm, toss the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Melt the Nutella gently in a small bowl.
- Serve the Nutty Churro Bites with Nutella for dipping.
