Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the flour until a smooth ball forms.
  3. Return the saucepan to low heat and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute to dry out the dough.
  4. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place the dough in a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 1-inch pieces of dough directly into the hot oil.
  7. Fry the churro bites for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. In a shallow bowl, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Drain the fried churro bites on a paper towel-lined plate.
  10. While still warm, toss the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. Melt the Nutella gently in a small bowl.
  12. Serve the Nutty Churro Bites with Nutella for dipping.
