Description

Discover the vibrant flavors of Lebanese Batata Harra, crispy spicy garlic potatoes that are perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Potatoes (Russets or Yukon Gold)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil (Extra-virgin recommended)
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic (Fresh is best)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro (Chopped)

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes: Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until they are tender but still firm to the bite.
  2. Drain and cool: Carefully drain the potatoes in a colander and let them cool for a few minutes.
  3. Sauté garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Mix in potatoes: Gently add the boiled potatoes to the skillet. Sprinkle with red chili flakes, cumin, and salt, and stir well to coat them evenly.
  5. Crisp the potatoes: Cook the seasoned potatoes for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Add cilantro: Once golden, remove from heat and fold in the freshly chopped cilantro before serving warm.
