Description
Delicious Easy Layered Christmas Jello for Holiday Cheer
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 oz Lime Jell-O (Can substitute with lemon or key lime Jell-O for a twist.)
- 1 cup Crushed Pineapple (well-drained) (Other fruits like mandarins can be used for variety.)
- 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans or Walnuts (optional) (Omit for allergies or to keep it nut-free.)
- 1 cup Boiling Water (Essential for dissolving Jell-O.)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened) (Make sure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing.)
- 1 cup Whipped Topping or 1/2 cup Whipped Heavy Cream (Consider dairy-free alternatives if needed.)
- 6 oz Cherry or Raspberry Jell-O (Feel free to use any red gelatin variation like strawberry.)
- 1 cup Cold Water (Divided into two portions for separate uses.)
- Whipped Cream (For serving.)
- Lime Zest (For garnish.)
Instructions
- Prepare Lime Layer: Begin by dissolving 6 oz of lime Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then mix in 1 cup of cold water, followed by the well-drained crushed pineapple and optional nuts. Pour this vibrant mixture into a 9×13 dish and refrigerate for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until set.
- Make Cream Layer: Grab your softened cream cheese and beat it until smooth in a mixing bowl. Gently fold in 1 cup of whipped topping until well-combined, creating a luscious creamy layer. Spread this mixture evenly over the set lime layer and let it chill in the fridge for another 30 minutes.
- Prepare Cherry Layer: Again, dissolve 6 oz of cherry or raspberry Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until you see no granules. Add 1 cup of cold water and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Carefully pour the cooled mix over the cream layer and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until fully set.
- Serve: Once your jello is beautifully set, cut it into squares and serve with a fluffy topping of whipped cream and a sprinkle of lime zest for an added pop of color and freshness!
Notes
- Adjust the fruit layers based on your preferences.
- Make sure to let each layer set completely before adding the next.
- Chill the jello for optimal firmness.
