  • 1 lb Ground Pork
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 medium Carrots
  • 2 stalks Celery
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Red Wine
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Milk/Cream
  • 2 leaves Bay Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté chopped onion, carrots, and celery until softened (5-7 minutes).
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate ground beef and pork, browning until no longer pink (8-10 minutes).
  5. Deglaze with red wine, simmering for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add crushed tomatoes and milk/cream to combine.
  8. Season with bay leaves, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  9. Cover and simmer on low heat for at least 1.5 to 2 hours.
  10. Adjust seasonings, remove bay leaves, and serve hot.
