Description

Indulge in a comforting Gourmet Seafood Cassolette featuring shrimp, scallops, and white fish in a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz Shrimp (Ensure it’s fresh or properly thawed)
  • 8 oz Scallops (Opt for fresh for the best flavor)
  • 8 oz White Fish (e.g., cod, haddock) (Any flaky white fish will work well)
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream (Base of the creamy sauce, no direct substitute)
  • 1/2 cup White Wine (Can be substituted with vegetable broth for a non-alcoholic version)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Essential for enhancing seafood flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (Can be swapped with Pecorino Romano)
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère Cheese (Swiss cheese makes a great alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Zest (Brightens flavors, lime zest is a suitable replacement)
  • 1 bunch Fresh Herbs (like parsley or dill) (Dried herbs can be used in lesser amounts if fresh isn’t available)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté shrimp, scallops, and white fish in melted butter for 3-4 minutes until just cooked through.
  3. Cook garlic in the same pan for 1 minute until fragrant, then add white wine and reduce by half.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Layer the seafood in ramekins or a baking dish, pouring the creamy sauce over it.
  6. Sprinkle additional cheese and optional breadcrumbs on top, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and a sprinkle of lemon zest before serving.
