Description

Crispy Cabbage & Onion Fritters are a flavorful and nutritious dish that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 medium head Green Cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 1 medium Carrot (shredded)
  • 3 Scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 3 Eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour (or substitute with chickpea or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 34 tablespoons Avocado Oil or Olive Oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Plain Greek Yogurt (or substitute with mayonnaise)
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or Hot Sauce (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrot, scallions, eggs, flour, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir until everything is well mixed and only a little lumpy.
  2. Heat 3-4 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter and flatten it into a 3-inch fritter. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Transfer the cooked fritters onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Continue to cook the remaining batter, adding oil to the skillet as needed, ensuring each fritter has room to crisp up nicely.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together sour cream or Greek yogurt, Sriracha or hot sauce, lemon juice, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  5. Enjoy your warm crispy fritters alongside the dipping sauce. If desired, garnish with additional sliced scallions for a fresh touch.
