Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces penne or rotini pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, plus more for topping
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional toppings: Diced pickles, cooked bacon, sliced jalapeños, diced red onion, ketchup or mustard drizzle
Instructions
- Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain fat if needed.
- Add onion, celery, and garlic to the skillet; sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce and half the diced tomatoes. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Push the beef mixture to one side of the skillet. Melt butter in the empty side, then pour in heavy cream. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, creating the Alfredo sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
- Stir in half the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and creamy.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar, mozzarella, and tomatoes on top of the pasta.
- Cover the skillet for 1–2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and extra black pepper.
- Serve hot, adding your favorite burger toppings if desired.
Notes
- Drain excess fat from the ground beef to prevent a greasy sauce.
- Use any short pasta shape that you prefer.
- Lighten the dish by using ground turkey and half-and-half instead of cream.
- Add toppings like pickles, bacon, or jalapeños for an extra burger flavor.
- For a browned cheese topping, finish the dish under the broiler for 2-3 minutes.
