Description

Churro Saltine Toffee is a sweet and salty dessert combining crunchy Saltine crackers with a buttery caramel, cinnamon, and chocolate topping. It’s an easy-to-make treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sleeve Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cinnamon and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the Saltine crackers, spreading it out to cover them completely.
  7. Bake the crackers in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  9. Let the chocolate sit for a minute or two to melt, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
  10. Sprinkle with sea salt to finish.
