- 1 sleeve Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cinnamon and vanilla extract.
- Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the Saltine crackers, spreading it out to cover them completely.
- Bake the crackers in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
- Let the chocolate sit for a minute or two to melt, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
- Sprinkle with sea salt to finish.
- Allow the toffee to cool completely, then break it into pieces.
