Description

Creamy Chicken Taco Pinwheels are a no-fuss, no-cook party food packed with rotisserie chicken, cheese, and a mild spicy kick. These chilled tortilla roll-ups are bold, flavorful, and easy to prepare, perfect for game day, potlucks, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken, chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup salsa, drained if watery
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 tablespoons jalapeƱos, minced
  • 1 dash hot sauce, optional
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 6 large burrito-size flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, salsa, cheddar cheese, jalapeƱos, hot sauce, taco seasoning, cilantro, and chopped chicken. Mix until well blended.
  2. Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface and spread approximately 1/6 of the mixture evenly across the entire surface.
  3. Roll the tortilla tightly from one edge to the other.
  4. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap to help maintain shape.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  6. Place all wrapped tortillas in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour.
  7. Remove plastic wrap, trim the ends of each roll, and slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  8. Arrange the chicken taco pinwheel appetizers on a platter and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce or omit the jalapeƱos and hot sauce.
  • Pre-shredded cheese is fine, but freshly shredded cheese can offer a creamier consistency.
  • Ensure a thin, even layer of filling for easier rolling and better spirals.
  • Use a sharp knife for clean slices.
  • These pinwheels can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Store rolled and wrapped pinwheels in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Avoid freezing as cream cheese and tortillas can become soggy upon thawing.
