Description

These Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are the ultimate comfort food. They feature juicy, seasoned chicken wrapped in a golden tortilla with a rich, creamy garlic cheese sauce and melty mozzarella. Quick, cheesy, skillet-toasted, and totally irresistible, these wraps are perfect for a satisfying meal.

  • For the Chicken:
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Garlic Cheese Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • For Assembly:
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito-size)
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for toasting)
  • Extra shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken into strips and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook 6–8 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in garlic powder and salt. Add mozzarella and cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  6. Lay out tortillas. Add chicken, drizzle garlic cheese sauce over the top, sprinkle with parsley and extra cheese if using.
  7. Fold in sides and roll tightly into a wrap.
  8. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat with butter or oil. Toast each wrap seam-side down for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crisp.
  9. Slice and serve hot with extra sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a shortcut.
  • Swap mozzarella for pepper jack for extra heat.
  • Sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance and refrigerated.
  • Add sautéed spinach, onions, or peppers to bulk it up.
  • Gluten-free tortillas and flour can be used for substitutions.
