Description
A simple and delicious salmon recipe featuring a sweet and savory brown sugar soy sauce glaze, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the brown sugar soy sauce mixture evenly over each fillet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- Use fresh salmon for the best texture and flavor.
- If using frozen salmon, thaw overnight in the fridge and pat very dry.
- For a smokier taste, grill the salmon instead.
- Variations include a citrus twist (use orange juice and zest), Asian Fusion (add ginger and sesame oil), or Honey Garlic (replace half the brown sugar with honey).
- Store cooked salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave. Do not freeze after glazing.
