Description
Creamy Brie Mac and Cheese to Warm Your Heart and Home
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces Brie Cheese (cut into small pieces)
- 2 cups Milk (consider using half-and-half for creaminess)
- 4 tablespoons Butter (can substitute with margarine)
- 4 tablespoons Flour (opt for gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version)
- 2 cups Macaroni Pasta (can substitute with penne or fusilli)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (consider panko for a lighter texture)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add your macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-9 minutes. Drain thoroughly and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in 4 tablespoons of flour and cook for about 2 minutes until lightly golden. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and is smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, then add 8 ounces of Brie cheese. Stir until the cheese has fully melted, creating a velvety sauce.
- Gently mix your cooked pasta into the cheese sauce, ensuring every piece is coated. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. If using, sprinkle 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20 minutes or until the top is bubbling and golden.
- Allow your Brie Mac and Cheese to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. This enhances the flavors and makes it easier to enjoy.
