Description

Easy Beef Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce is a flavorful Middle Eastern-inspired dish perfect for any occasion. Tender, spiced beef koftas are paired with a creamy, tangy garlic yogurt sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • For the garlic yogurt sauce:
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, coriander, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Shape the mixture into small oval or round koftas (about 8-10 pieces). You can also shape them onto skewers if preferred.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the koftas for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  6. While the koftas are cooking, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce by combining the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt in a bowl.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Once the koftas are cooked, serve them hot with a drizzle of the garlic yogurt sauce.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, grill the koftas over medium heat.
