- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and whisk in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Continue stirring until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately over pasta or as desired.
