This classic homemade Alfredo Sauce is creamy, rich, and full of Parmesan flavor. Perfect for pasta or as a base for other Italian favorites, it comes together in minutes using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until foamy.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
  4. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg; continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately over pasta or your favorite dish.
