- 4 sesame seed bagels
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices cooked bacon, cooled and chopped
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- Hot sauce, to taste (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh chives, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped cooked bacon, mayonnaise, sour cream, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper and mix until smooth.
- Carefully cut a thin slice from the bottom of each bagel. Hollow out the center gently, ensuring not to cut all the way through so they hold their shape.
- Divide the creamy spread evenly among the hollowed bagels, smoothing the tops to make them level.
- Place the filled bagels on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C/375°F for 12-15 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove the bagels from the oven, and garnish with reserved bacon and freshly chopped chives. Serve hot.
