Description
Buttery sugar cookies cut into Christmas tree shapes, iced with smooth royal icing, and sprinkled with glittering sugar and edible gold. A festive, elegant treat for holiday celebrations.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp meringue powder
- 5–6 tbsp water
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Green and gold sprinkles
- Edible glitter and star sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt; add gradually to wet mixture.
- Chill dough 1 hour. Roll to ¼ inch, cut into tree shapes, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes.
- Cool cookies completely.
- Make icing by mixing powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water until smooth.
- Pipe and flood cookies; decorate with sprinkles and edible glitter.
- Let dry 4–6 hours before serving or packaging.
