Description
Enjoy the nostalgic taste of S’mores Pop-Tarts made at home. This recipe uses flaky pie crust, chocolate spread, and marshmallow fluff for a delicious treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 rolls refrigerated rolled pie crust
- 1–2 cups chocolate spread or Nutella
- 1–2 cups marshmallow fluff
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons hot water
- 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Roll out each pie dough sheet into a large rectangle. Slice into 16 even rectangles.
- Fill one rectangle with marshmallow fluff and another with chocolate spread. Pipe alternating stripes of chocolate and marshmallow onto 8 rectangles, leaving a border.
- Wet your finger and run along the dough border to help seal.
- Place a second dough rectangle on top of each filled one, pressing gently.
- Use a fork to crimp and seal all edges.
- Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter and cocoa powder. Stir in powdered sugar and hot water until smooth to make the glaze.
- Spoon glaze onto cooled pop-tarts and spread gently.
- While glaze is still wet, sprinkle crushed graham crackers over top.
- Allow glaze to harden before serving.
Notes
- Do not overbake the pop-tarts, as the filling may disappear.
- Cool the pop-tarts completely before glazing to prevent the icing from melting.
- These homemade pop-tarts are not meant to be used in a toaster.
