Description

This One-Pan Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sausage Rice is a quick, flavorful meal perfect for busy nights. It features juicy seared sausage coated in a sticky barbecue glaze, mixed with garlicky rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch coins
  • 3 cups cooked white rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the sliced sausage for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Reduce heat to medium; add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in brown sugar until melted and bubbly.
  5. Pour in BBQ sauce and soy sauce; mix well to coat the sausage.
  6. Add cooked rice to the skillet; stir until heated through and well combined.
  7. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to create a crispy bottom layer.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving hot.

  • Use day-old rice for better texture.
  • Adjust BBQ sauce amount to your taste.
