- 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch coins
- 3 cups cooked white rice (preferably day-old)
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the sliced sausage for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Reduce heat to medium; add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in brown sugar until melted and bubbly.
- Pour in BBQ sauce and soy sauce; mix well to coat the sausage.
- Add cooked rice to the skillet; stir until heated through and well combined.
- Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes to create a crispy bottom layer.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving hot.
