- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 stick frozen butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 cup cold buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- In a mixing bowl, add flour and grate frozen butter into it. Mix using a pastry cutter until crumbly.
- Pour in cold buttermilk and stir with a spatula until dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and lightly knead it until slightly sticky.
- Fold the dough several times to create layers; then pat into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter after baking.
