Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in buttermilk just until combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out and cut into biscuits. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden.
- Meanwhile, marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge the marinated chicken in the seasoned flour.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until crispy and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, warm honey with hot sauce and red pepper flakes over low heat until combined.
- To assemble, slice biscuits in half, add fried chicken, and drizzle generously with hot honey. Serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust hot sauce and red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- For a deeper flavor, marinate chicken overnight.
- Ensure oil is at the correct temperature for crispy chicken.
