Description
These Heart Churros are a delightful dessert, perfect for sharing and celebrating love.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 0.25 cup butter
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 pc egg
- 1.5 cup oil
Instructions
- Pour water into a saucepan set over medium heat. Add in the sugar and butter, stirring occasionally until everything is fully melted and combined.
- When the mixture comes to a boil, take it off the heat. Add all the flour at once, mixing energetically until no lumps remain. Let the dough cool at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the dough has cooled down to a warm temperature, add the egg. Mix thoroughly until the dough is smooth and well-combined.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large tip to achieve adorable heart shapes.
- Pipe the dough onto parchment paper in lovely heart shapes. Freeze the shaped dough for at least 30 minutes to firm it up.
- In a kadhai, pour in the oil and heat it to 150°C (about 300°F). Test the oil’s heat by dropping a small bit of dough into it — it should sizzle immediately.
- Carefully fry the churros until they’re golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Once fried, dip one corner of each churro in melted chocolate and sprinkle with your favorite toppings for an extra special touch.
