Description

Crispy potato pancakes stuffed with savory seasoned beef and melted cheese, pan-fried until golden and irresistible. Perfect for dinner, snacks, or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups grated potatoes
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 12 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Allow to cool slightly, then stir in shredded cheese.
  2. Grate potatoes and squeeze out excess moisture. Combine with grated onion, eggs, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to form a batter.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add a scoop of potato mixture and flatten. Place a spoonful of beef filling in the center. Add another thin layer of potatoes on top and seal the edges.
  4. Cook 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with remaining mixture.
  5. Serve warm with sour cream or dipping sauce.

  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Use any type of cheese you prefer.
