- 3 large Eggs (Room temperature)

- 2 tablespoons Dark Rum (Optional)
- 8 slices Country-Style Bread (Day-old works best)
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (For frying)
- 1 cup Whipped Cream (Freshly whipped recommended)
- 0.25 cup Maple Syrup (Sweetener to drizzle on top)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, dark rum (if using), cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Preheat your oven to 250°F to keep cooked French toast warm.
- Cut the country-style bread into 3/4-inch thick slices.
- In a skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium-high heat until foamy.
- Quickly dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture for about 1-2 seconds and place them in the hot skillet.
- Cook 3-4 slices at a time for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer the French toast to a baking sheet and keep in the warm oven.
- Serve warm topped with whipped cream and maple syrup.
