- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 large Large egg
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 0.5 teaspoon Almond extract
- Royal icing
- Food coloring
- Sprinkles
- Edible glitter
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the large egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the butter-sugar mixture. Beat until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just incorporated.
- Wrap the dough in plastic and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into festive Christmas tree shapes.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
