Description

Delicious Christmas Stuffed Shells Perfect for Holiday Gatherings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 pieces Jumbo Pasta Shells
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese
  • 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Herbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small Onion

Instructions

  1. Boil jumbo shells in salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse gently with cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, minced garlic, dried herbs, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir together until creamy and evenly mixed for a rich filling.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic and diced onion until fragrant and translucent. Add marinara sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Stuff each pasta shell generously with the filling and place them snugly in the dish. Cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with additional mozzarella, and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Allow the stuffed shells to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Opt for bronze-cut pasta shells for better texture.
  • Dairy-free options for cheese include cashew or tofu-based ricotta.
  • Consider using fresh mozzarella for a luxurious finish.
  • Enhance marinara sauce with sautéed garlic and onion.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor and presentation.
