Description
Delicious Christmas Stuffed Shells Perfect for Holiday Gatherings
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 pieces Jumbo Pasta Shells
- 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese
- 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian Herbs
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 cups Marinara Sauce
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 small Onion
Instructions
- Boil jumbo shells in salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse gently with cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent sticking.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, minced garlic, dried herbs, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir together until creamy and evenly mixed for a rich filling.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic and diced onion until fragrant and translucent. Add marinara sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Stuff each pasta shell generously with the filling and place them snugly in the dish. Cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with additional mozzarella, and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow the stuffed shells to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Opt for bronze-cut pasta shells for better texture.
- Dairy-free options for cheese include cashew or tofu-based ricotta.
- Consider using fresh mozzarella for a luxurious finish.
- Enhance marinara sauce with sautéed garlic and onion.
- Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor and presentation.
