Description

This Beefaroni recipe is a quick and comforting classic dish, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 15 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • to taste Salt and Pepper
  • 1 cup Elbow Macaroni
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high and brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until it’s fully cooked and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil, then cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions, usually about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  5. Gently fold the cooked macaroni into the beef mixture until everything is well combined.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mixture in the skillet. Cover with a lid and let it sit for around 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Dish out the hot Beefaroni onto plates and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a leaner option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey.
  • Shallots can be used instead of onion.
  • Garlic powder can be used if fresh garlic isn’t available.
  • Feel free to use fresh tomatoes for a burst of flavor.
  • Marinara can be used for extra taste in place of tomato sauce.
  • Use double the amount of fresh oregano for a vibrant touch.
  • Substitute with fresh basil for a fresher flavor.
  • Adjust salt and pepper according to taste preferences.
  • Try penne or any short pasta if you’d like a change.
  • Experiment with mozzarella or a dairy-free cheese alternative.
