Description

Deliciously moist Banana Bread Brownies combining the flavors of banana bread and brownies, topped with a creamy frosting.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 240 ml sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 113 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 60 g chopped walnuts (optional)
  • For the Frosting:
  • 113 g unsalted butter
  • 480 g powdered sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix sugar, sour cream, and butter until smooth.
  4. Add eggs, bananas, and vanilla; mix well.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Add walnuts if using.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Let cool, then prepare frosting by creaming butter, adding powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until spreadable.
  10. Frost cooled brownies and slice.
