Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and arrange thick slices of brioche or challah in a single layer.
- Drizzle melted butter over the torn phyllo pieces and toss to coat well. Sprinkle these over the arranged brioche.
- Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and spices in a mixing bowl until smooth and frothy.
- Pour the custard mixture over the layered brioche and phyllo, ensuring everything is distributed evenly.
- Allow the bake to soak for 5 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is puffed and golden brown.
- Rest the bake for 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
