- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 cup (120g) All-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Cooking spray or a small amount of oil for the air fryer basket
Instructions
- Peel, core, and finely dice 2 medium apples into approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch (0.6 to 1.2 cm) cubes. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, gently mix until just combined.
- Add the finely diced apples to the batter. Gently fold them in until they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for at least 5-7 minutes.
- While the air fryer preheats, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with a little oil.
- Using two spoons, carefully drop 2-3 tablespoon-sized spoonfuls of batter into the prepared air fryer basket. Air fry for 8-10 minutes.
- At the 8-minute mark, open the basket and use tongs to carefully flip each fritter. Continue to air fry for another 5-7 minutes.
- Once a batch is done, carefully remove the hot fritters and transfer them to a wire rack to cool slightly.
- Once the fritters have cooled for just a few minutes, generously dust them with powdered sugar.
